Meet Dr. Ramon Halum

Founder and Lead Specialist at Indy Vascular

Dr. Ramon Halum is a board-certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist with over 22 years of expertise in vascular interventions and chronic pain management. As the founder of Indy Vascular, he focuses on delivering exceptional care through innovative, minimally invasive procedures.

Specialized Expertise: Dr. Halum is an expert in Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE), a groundbreaking, non-operative treatment for osteoarthritis knee pain. He also specializes in treating Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI), a severe condition of the lower extremity blood vessels that, if left untreated, can lead to amputation.

Comprehensive Care: His other areas of interest include superficial vein disease, pelvic compression syndrome, varicocele embolization, and fibroid embolization treatments.

Academic Leadership: Dr. Halum has held academic positions at Indiana University, Wake Forest University, and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has been performing and teaching vascular interventions for 22 years, the last 18 of which have been based in Indianapolis.

Educational Background: Dr. Halum holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology training at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a Vascular and Interventional Fellowship at the University of Illinois-Peoria.
